The Streetfighter bars are noticeably wider than the Renthal UltraLows. Seems like the Ultra-lows give a little better feel and feedback on turning than the Streetfighters, but thats just my personal riding feel.

Yeah, I tried that too when I got my Daytona, I thought I'd put 'em back the way they were, but I felt like they were apehangers for some reason, once on the highway and up to speed I was immediately reminded of what I am having a hard time resolving with regards a naked bike, under 70mph they are bliss, above it, and I'm just spanked by the wind. If I was a urban/suburban rider only it would be okay but..

I must say that it was nice to relief not 'getting in hump*ng stance' that I feel I'm in with the clip-ons at least for an afternoon. It's like they are a touch too low but are positioned perfectly to allow the levers to slot between the headlight housing and the instrument panel bezel when you turn from lock to lock. They make the bike look tiny (not in a good way to a guy as tall as me), they make the bike look mean and awesome. I do wish that the seat was a little longer and didnt have that scoop to force me into the tank though (tall guy musings  .)

I've debated back and forth about going back to my handlebars, I started with black Pro-tapers, they were comfy on the wrists moreso than the standard S3 bars but I gave 'em up.

For Clip-on-comfort I think Aikojo has found the best solution so far but that involves the headlight/ instrument panel mod from LSL.

I had a look at the bars on the Duc Monster and to my eye they look lower and a tad more compact than the S3 bars, I wonder what anyone with experience with those might have to say as regard an option?

I believe LSL has a kit, check out www.spieglerusa.com for their handlebar-riser kits.

I think you are right. The Duc bars also have less sweep. All this positions you leaning forward more, which is good for riding and overall steering feel. And very bad for your wrists. It is not so much the leaning forward part, but the lack of bend that gets to my wrists.

joo tawkin' to me, meng?
i actually dont know the brand...i found them in a parts bin in my garage in new york and when i got back to socal, low and behold they fit. so im pretty confident any set in 45mm will do for our generation forks.

i hear woodcraft are good. harris are nice if you need the rise, which is a good idea because my setup is VERY aggressive.

I'm getting old, and my wrists and back can't cope with clipons any more - which was one of the reasons for buying a Speed Triple.

However, I found the standard bars were a bit too wide to fit through the gaps in traffic, and they hang you out in the wind at speed. I tried some Renthal (ultra low I think) bars I had in the workshop but they were as wide as the standard bars even after cutting an inch off each end.

I now have some Honda CB250RS bars fitted. They're narrow at only 26" so they fit through smaller gaps, and much more comfortable at speed.
