Got to looking at 2 of my friends 05 and 06 Speed triples and cannot figure out why I have that plastic tank and tubing stuff under the tank in back of the cylinders and below the injectors - it is truly a morass of plastic and rubber tubes.. You cannot see through the bike under the tank like you can on both my friends bikes and the two new ones at the dealers. This is wierd. Maybe I have a California model? or an Italian /Euro version since it was an early '06 in White. What the hell is going on here Triumph??? I did not order or expect to get a different version of this bike than the standard US 49 state model. If I did I will be really upset and definitely have to do something about it. What do you guys think I have here?? This could explain all the problems I have had with non starting and poor running. Maybe the downloads are the wrong ones?? The parts guy at the dealer is going to do a VIN check for me Tuesday and maybe we will find out what kind of bastard bike I was sold. Anybody else got one of these variants?

It's propably the normal bunch of hoses and stuff up there, and your just having some mental breakdown. I felt the same way the other day when washing my bike. I was amazed at all the ****e I saw that i've missed for the last 5 years!

Hi Hivel, did they ever get your bike fixed and running right? Hope you don't have any more problems, sounds like you've had your share already.

Um, how about some pics of your bike and some pics of a bike at the dealership so we can compare? Maybe the white bike just makes the black bits more obvious?

Spending more time looking for things "wrong" with your bike?? Maybe it's just the way it is. I can't see through mine, and I don't really care. I've had my tank off, done this and that etc... It's all the usual stuff. I doubt you have a "california" model, or that there is really too much difference between the two except for some minor smog stuff... The euro question... highly doubt it too. Just the way your bike is.

I got to thinking a bit more about your other problem. How long do you let the bike try to start if it doesn't immediately kick over? Do you just sit there and let it spin? How long do you let it idle after startup before bliping the throttle? Do you sit there during warm up an give it gas like a few roll ons? Just trying to figure out where you are coming from with your bike... and what is going on.
