if you're looking for hard luggage i think your only option( and i spent some time looking) is Kappa. they make a tail bag that will mount on the triple. model# K48, mount# K724L, and theres a backrest you can order for it too.

Eurotech motorsports sells a rear rack that will accept any Hepco Becker top case. I use the topcase on my BMW and then just move it over to my S3 when I need it. I know it fits the 2001.....call Eurotech and ask for Chris.

Speed Triple owners may want to have a look at www.fastbag.ca/

Very slick solution.

why does everyone think the stock seat is so bad? i have a 2000 speed 3 and did a 2100 mile trip in five days with the stock seat and was fine with it. rode from ohio to Ga. was 676 miles took around 12 hours. rode straight thru. the trick is in the pants and underwear you have on and to stretch every time you stop.

Agree with "speedytriple". I think the original seat works just fine. When touring: wearing a rucksack is out of the question, exept for really short trips. I got the Triumph "sports tank bag" and i'm quite happy with it. I also got a size expandable 50 l. PVC waterproof bag to attach to the passenger seat. Not expensive, and a quite smart solution since it never has to be larger than necessary.

having just sat on the old model S3 the seat is a lot comfier than the 2004 model perhaps i need to eat more lard and get myself fatter style american arse for more comfort - i didnt realise that the underwear made a difference to comfort i guess il have to dispatch my suede thong to the dustbin - having ridden many different bikes in my 25 year s riding my opinion is that the seat on the 2004 model S3 is uncomfortable after a few hundred miles in the saddle but the bike is still miles better than the dyna wide glide i just sold.

if you are on a long ride the seems from breifs will cut off the flow of blood and make you bum hurt more. i wear either boxers or cyclists shorts. they sell these at sports stores for cyclist they have no seems in the rear and you can even get them with padding in the bum. i wear these under my leathers they also help to slide the leathers on and off. have never sat on a 04 s3, but i have been on mine for a lot of 300 to 500 mile days. and have found what help to make my bum feel better. i also have some padding back there maybe that helps??!
