Hi guys,

Just bought a Scorpio SR-i500SE alarm system to put on my bike... I know we are supposed to connect to lights wires and all, but I don't have the shop manual...

So those of you who did install this system, can you tell me what wire you used and also if you have a picture of your installation it would help me a great deal!...

Thanks

Aaron: I am surprised you got that connector because I wrote an E-Mail to Aritronix and a guy named Anthony replied saying they are developping a connector for it but it won't be available soon...

He told me however that the GEN-1 connector supplied with the alarm kit should work, but I think it uses the crimp-on t-connectors...

Do you by any chance have the part number of the connector you bought or who did you talk to to get it?...

Thanks

HDeno, if you do not manage to locate the connector via the alarm company the Triumph alarm plug is the following part:

Plug: TYCO AMP 173851-1 / RS 362-9086
Female: TYCO AMP 174933-1 / RS 362-9193
Push-in pins: TYCO AMP 175029-1 / RS 362-9373

The -1 indicates white part, do not remember which was black. In any case the whites & greens are much easier to find. They are otherwise identical parts.

You should be able to buy/order the connectors from your local electronics store for a few cents a piece.

Blinkers, starter power, switched power and all needed wires are present at the plug, so I would recommend wiring your alarm with the plug instead of raping the stock wiring with crimp-ons. The plug approach worked very well for me, when I wired in a custom alarm with no Triumph harness available.

The crimp on connectors in the kit are pretty high quality and worked well enough for my needs.. Velcro the unit to the top of the battery and the tails were long enough to reach to the tail piece to tap the turn signal wiring..

I got a used Scorpio alarm but I have no idea what model number it is or if I even have all the parts. Do you know where I might look to get some information?
