I just traded my 2000 Aprilia Mille for a 02 Speed Triple. I have the Wolf exhaust that the previous owner installed. How do I know if I have a correct map for this exhaust? The reason I ask is from 0-Full throttle, it bogs some.

Hi Teknic,

Nice bike. Looks very familiar to me.

Peter Sorrell from Wolf is on this site frequently and very approachable and responsive. I would suggest that you contact him directly to see what map they used to tune for your particular can. Then you can bring the bike into your dealer to ask them to make sure that map is loaded.

What's with the clothes dryer vent tube on your pipe?

Great looking bike, congrat's. A good friend of mine is the service manager at the local triumph/ducati dealership, he just recently acquired a t595, not sure of the year, but it was the really nice looking silver with the red and black graphics..beautiful machine.

Has the wolf exhaust, same as you. His does the same thing...he called wolf, they said to load the triumph high performance map and set the co2 or 02, something like that..he did that and it still has that same stumble that yours has.

If he opens the throttle from like 3-4k it stumbles and hiccups. He rode another one and it did the same thing. At this point I think he has decided to just live with it or try a different pipe. Good luck.

Steve

Get a Tuneboy and take the bike to your best local dyno specialist and have the fuel mapping dialed in. My 03 ran beautifully after the Tuneboy remapping. Gonna run it back in next week to see if they can do a little more tweaking and finishing. You'll notice a night and day difference between stock and after having it custom mapped. Everything should be smoother and more responsive afterward with no hiccups.

Where is the best place to buy a Tune boy. I've seen it mentioned several times on the boards but know nothing about it.

Tuneboy Website

The Tuneboy kit works a LOT like the PowerCommander except you don't have to install a bunch of cables and a black box to 'trick' your fuel injection. You just get a USB adapter (or use the included serial connection) on a laptop, plug the TB into your bike's ECU data cable (found in the battery box area) and you're golden. You directly map your ECU using the laptop and then you use the dyno's air/fuel sensor to check for the proper AF ratio.

If you're really brave, or know a lot about bikes, you can even tune your ignition, timing, and everything else the ECU controls on your bike. You can even change your rev limiter in case you do major engine mods down the road.

Oh, and I managed to get 52 miles per gallon on a 500-mile trip home from St. Louis last year maintaining a steady 80mph on the freeway. AND, this was after custom Tuneboy mapping and 3 teeth UP on the back sprocket... I don't think any of the 1050 guys can come close to that on fuel economy, lol. I also got 113hp and 69ft lbs at the rear wheel with just a K&N filter and TOR high mount CF can.

Sounds like a really neat device. I'm not sure if I am ready to spend $400 for a Tuneboy quite yet.

If I could find a cheaper way to get rid of the bog. hmmmm.

The Power Commander is cheaper (generally $200-$300). There is one on eBay right now for $99.

Nice bike! Get it on a good dyno and see where you are at?

Heh, seems they raised the price by $50 since I bought mine. I've got the serial kit with a USB adapter I bought before they released this new USB starter kit. Its still a much better system than the PCIII. Less wires, less BS.
