05-06 S3 coming out of 1st under mid to high power
the bike is hitting neutral then a 2nd click and there 2nd gear.
All other gears are shifting great less of a click then from new
the bike has 2300 mi on it and I shift alot with the back roads
I ride. It seems to be the bike and not me I think.
(I know it's a poor musician that blames his instrument)

P.S. this is the best bike I have ever had. :chug:

Check the gear change linkage for play and reassemble if necessary. Many 1050s seem to come out of the assembly with loose linkage joints and/or gearbox end lever. Most likely this is the reason behind your dropping into neutral too. Especially the front balljoint ball seems to come undone quite easily unless assembled with plenty of blue loctite on the threads.

Do a search on this forum, and you will find plenty on the subject.

I also adjusted my gear lever down. It was at a point where I couldn't easily raise my foot easier. So, I would sometimes make sloppy/soft shifts because it just wasn't in the natural range of my ankle pivot.

In many cases the gearboxes are a bit stiff on new bikes and will get much better when the kms add up.

Good catch. Mine was also originally in a position, where on upshifts the gear lever would catch on the rearset support.

Great Advice Martin & Dwarf! I noticed a little rough shifting, will check the lever this week.

Thank you!

As did I. It made all the difference in the false neutrals for me and took 5 minutes to adjust.
