I installed the aluminum bushing end of my new Skyking front engine mount sliders the other night. Removing the old engine bolts shows that there is a nut with a large flange attached on the back side and a bolt with a washer on it on the outside of the bike. The Skyking sliders came with one washer (per slider) but the instructions didn't say where it went...

...since the oem nut has a large flange and the Skyking bolt doesn't I installed the washer on the nut side (inside) in order to "make up for" the lack of a flange. I figured that the large aluminum bushing on the outside of the slider will make up for the lack of a washer. Plus, without a washer on the outside of the engine between the frameslider and the engine mount the frameslider has as larger contact patch with the engine mount hole. Anyone have any insight? Am I making mountains out of molehills.

Good to go on the install if you put the washer on the nut side of the mount. The washer should be there to protect the mount while the nut is spinning on (slider side shouldn't be spinning, eh?) and tightening down, and evenly distribute the force so the nut doesn't sink down into the aluminum.

You of course used a torque wrench to make sure you weren't overtightening things, right?

Mr. King is very prompt. I like the way he takes care of his customers.
