I am willing to bet that there are some interesting stories out there regarding violations that S3 owners may have experienced. Perhaps some of you have creatively avoided such inconveniences. Kuhlka? Is it true or just an urban myth that S3's are given more leniency than other bikes when it comes to moving violations?

I didn't avoid it persay, but I can highly recommend hiring a good lawyer to 'speak' on your behalf.
I got a nice little 'wreckless' operation ticket last summer for doing a wheelie/stoppie wheelie/stoppie combo at 2 lights in the downtown area and managed to plead down to a brake light violation. There was NO ONE on the road other than myself and my buddy who was also doing wheelies.
In my eyes it is a wreckless op, rather than a reckless operation because I didn't wreck, didn't come close to wrecking, and wasn't endangering anyone other than myself. I understand the officer's/court's point of view, but I also think it is rather silly to hand out tickets, fines, and possible jail time for screwing around under 35mph on a motorcycle on an empty street at night.
So, in the end, I learned to NOT do that kind of playing around anywhere near downtown, in town, or anywhere other than remote areas or onramps, lol.
Proud to say I have no points on my license at this point after 4 years of no tickets (other than that one).
As far as the Speed Triple being ignored by police... I was riding out to St. Louis with my father (in van) and switched out to drive the van for a bit while my dad gets a taste of the triple. He was weaving around and getting the thumbs up from people testing out the handling then swapped back at a rest stop.
We got down the road a few miles and BAM, State Trooper waves me off the road. I pull over like a good citizen, turn off the bike, and take off my helmet. The officer says, "Do you know why I pulled you over?" I say, well I was going a bit fast probably around 75 in a 65 and just wasn't paying attention to the speedo until you waved at me.
The officer says, "We got a report of a sportbike matching your description weaving in and out of lanes and pulling standup wheelies!" I'm like... WHOA! I don't know what you guys saw, but I haven't been pulling standup wheelies this entire trip, hell I don't even know how to do standups. (yet) I think for a bit while the officer speaks with another officer who pulls up and parks...
WAIT A MINUTE! My father was riding the bike about 20 miles ago until that rest stop back there and he was weaving from lane to lane testing out the handling because he never rides my bike. That guy who pulled over and parked behind me, who you told to take off, was the guy riding the bike at the time. Could you ask whoever made this claim what the guy riding the bike looked like, because he wasn't wearing a jacket, helmet, or gloves. Heck, he was wearing penny loafers!
After a few minutes of the officers conferring giving me wary looks. The officer steps up and says I'm giving you a warning. Keep it on two wheels and be safe. I thank the officer for his concern and assure him I'll be safe.
SO, in this instance, the Speed Triple got caught, but the rider got away. I suppose I'm generally ignored by police since I look slow like a cruiser by the headlights and paint, but then again, maybe they just don't get much of a chance to see me fast because I keep my eyes peeled whenever I'm riding and tend to slow down at overpasses, before the crest of hills, and don't ride like a total jerk to piss off people into calling on their cell phones to complain.
Keep your eyes peeled, be polite, and if you ever get a ticket, hire a lawyer to avoid points!

I passed a White county Sherriff (mean bastards) doing 130 in a 55, on a double yellow. He was in an unmarked car. I just wanted to pass him since I had a bad day of riding in the mountains (dirt all over the road), and was eager to get home. I slowed down to 65 after passing as I just wanted to be alone on the road, and here he comes blue lights on. I was like "oh *****". I immediatly pulled over, and took out my license and insurance. He walks up and says, "these unmarked cars sure come in handy", and I said "yes sir, I sure wasnt trying to hide anything." He laughed a bit as I shrunk to nothingness. He then handed me a warning and asked me to "be careful now".
This is my average luck. Hope it holds up.

Maverick,
A moving violation is same as: ticket, traffic citation, busted, pulled over, invited to court, points off of you license. What do you call it up in the North when you are pulled over for Speeding or other activities on the bike that are generally frowned upon by the local law enforcement?

I've been pulled over twice on mine, both for being slightly above (+10) the speed limit.
The first time, a state trooper on a beemer pulled me over, checked that I was the legal owner and that I had a motorcycle endorsement, then proceeded to ask me about my Triple. "Nice bike - slow it down a little. Have a good day"
The second time, an unmarked patrol car pulled both me and a buddy (Guzzi V11 Sport) over. He checked that we were both valid, then said, "Beautiful machines guys - slow it down a bit"
I guarantee you that either time, had I been riding a fully faired HondaYamaKawiZuki, I would've gotten a ticket. I also think it helps matters if you're all geared up - helmet, eye protection, gloves, leathers, boots. It looks like you're trying to be safe - the less you look like a squid, the better the chance to avoid a ticket!
