I picked up a Triumph CF tank pad, but it has no directions. The package contained a strip of 2 sided tape, a cleaning pad, and the cf tank pad. Are there any special procedures for putting the tank pad on. Any tips or tricks? - Just looked at it again, and it says to be fitted by mechanic. It really can't be that tricky can it? Thanks in advance for the help.

Aside from positioning it carefully, you just need to make sure both surfaces to which the tape will adhere are very clean. Quick wipes with denatured alcohol should accomplish that.

I second what curmudgeon said. I bought extra double sided tape from an auto parts store and really loaded it up and I would recomend doing that also.

The dealer messed mine up.

What I noticed is that they must have started sticking the pad on from the top then going down to where the seat would cover it.

After a few hundred miles the tension from the natural bend in the pad started pulling up with wind because they did a poor job.
(by the way, the reason I did not do it myself is because the 06 S3 i bought fell out of financing and already had it on there along with the TORS, new bulbs, and a seat cowel.)

Anyways, hope that helps.

Thanks for all the help guys...... got it on with no problem. Tip of the day - use a dry erase marker to mark where it should go, made it a way simple install....... letting it cook on in the sun right now.
