Major problem...pulled my S3 outta the garage and went to go start her up and all I got was this spinning sound, like a power drill. I had the starter checked and was told that she was practically brand new. Dunno where to start troubleshooting. Anyone have any ideas?

It sounds like the starter motor is spinning, but it's not engaging (and turning) the engine.

Sounds to me like what Curmudgeon said, and you may be able to get it to start with a bit of bush mechanics. It may mean that the sprag clutch is a bit stuck. Sometimes if you put it in gear and rock it back and forth, it may free up or failing that, if there's a hill, or a buddy to push, try clutch/bump starting it. This may free up the throw out cog in the starter. Don't try it in 1st, use 2nd or maybe 3rd gear , get up to a reasonable speed then sit down hard on the seat as you let the clutch out.

took her to the shop and they confirmed the sprag clutch went out, then they were kind enough to tell me that it was covered under warranty...whew. I mean *****, I wish I was riding, but good thing I don't have to sell a couple gallons of blood to get her going again.

Quiet, that's good news that it's covered. Also good that you'll have it back soon.
