I'm considering fitting Triumph's Hi Level Carbon Fiber can to my '02 Triple...

I know this topic's been beat to death already, but just wanted to get some opinions on it. I'd much rather get an undertail, but they seem to be a bit cost prohibitive...

How's the sound and quality?
Can I keep the passenger pegs?

I like the looks of the Triumph can over other aftermarket cans because it lacks the ugly manufacturer logos all over it...

I've got one and it's great. Sounds very nice, not excessively loud and looks BEAUTIFUL. I like the way it tucks up under the (stock) turn signal. Seems like all the aftermarket cans I've seen are longer and I don't like that look. I also really like the oval shape. I took the passenger pegs off of mine but you can mount them
with a spacer or two (I'm sure someone will comment). I had a Triumph CF can on my '00 RS for 23,000 miles and had no problems at all.

Getcha one.

Make that 2 votes for the hi CF can. My bike came with is and beers2u is right you need to remove the right side peg. But the sound turns heads. And everyone I've met(so far) loves the look.

I have a hi level cf can on my 02 Speed Triple. Sounds great and looks great. You can buy a $12 spacer kit or make one yourself to mount the right passenger peg. Keep in mind that you cannot easily repack the muffler. Other manufacturers say you should repack every 10,000 miles or so. Basically, the fiberglass packing disintegrates over time. The result is the pipe slowly gets louder and louder. Another thing to think about is that over the long haul, this can cause heat damage to the cf sleeve.

beers2u,

Do you have a pic posted of this can on your bike?

Any suggestions on where to order one of these other than my local dealer? I suppose I would need a download so maybe I'm better off buying it from my dealer and having him do the download at the same time.

Or should I get Tuneboy and do a download myself?

Here's the best I can do. The quality of the pic is poor but it's the highest resolution shutterfly allows. The real pic is much better. :-D

If you want, I'll be happy to email you the real pic and more if you are on the fence or whatever.

BTW, this is on the Blue Ridge Parkway, overlooking Purgatory Mtn.

Craigger:

Is the $12 spacer kit you spoke of a Triumph item or what?

I got mine at the dealer, although I don't think its a Triumph product. You can either make your own, or buy one from Skyking (they charge alot for shipping though).

Thanks for the pic. That looks nice and you don't have to relocate anything. Did you have a download installed with the can?

Yep. I don't think it's a good idea to put the can on w/o the proper tune.
