I'm trying to decide on a pair of gloves, I currently own a pair of AlpineStars GP Tech gloves, It's evident that they are very well made and offer very high protection but I find them extremely uncomfortable, uncomfortable enough to abandon using them and use a backup pair of glove that do not begin to rival the protection offered by the A-Stars (an MV Agusta branded summer 'touring' glove).

I've had my eye on a couple and wondered if any of you guys have had some experience with them, they are the Held Krypton gloves, Spidi Six Kangaroo, and the Spidi Penta glove..

I intend to use the gloves primarily on the street, I've read enough reviews to believe the advise to spend as much as you can afford for good solid gear because it's worth it if you ever have a accident. They are obviously race oriented gloves and I was wondering if they are considered overkill for street riding (it will see track, but very rarely), and for any of you guys that happen to have them, are they comfortable?

I've heard much talk about the reputation and regard many have for these particular brands but I just havent heard of the experiences from somebody that has actually worn them, thats what I'm looking for more than anything.

I've had a pair of Held Galaxy gloves for 2 years now, and they are very comfortable, and you can't beat the quality. Can't comment on the others.

I've had a pair of Held Steve's for about a year and a half and they are the ultimate in comfort. Not quite as protective as the ones you are looking at but sufficient for the street IMO. Once you go 'roo, you won't go back!

My wife and I have Helmot Buffalo 365's. They are really 3 season - early spring through all but very hot summer trough fall into early winter. Very comfortable. I see the company is making a summer glove but have no first-hand experience.

Their gloves are very expensive - but I've decided that I'm never going to worry about the cost of protective gear.

I had a pair of AlpineStars SP2 (black) and I found them very comfortable for the city and for touring.

I bought the Triumph all weather gloves - not really because of Triumph but because they are hard wearing and comfy and warm and dry (8000 miles to date - on speed triple and Tiger)

I second FrankPs Helimot recommendation. Very solid glove, great quality, good looking. Definitely check them out.

Get more than one pair, I have 4 pairs. I always carry two pairs on long trips, one waterproof warmer pair and one sport pair.

Helimot's are basically Held copies in buffalo. I have gone through the Triumph gloves, the Alpinestars gloves and have settled on Held Profi's. These are the ONLY gloves I have worn that have not put my hands to sleep in a matter of minutes. I have high knuckles and anything with a carbon knuckle guard kills my hands. The Profi's are perfect. Pricy, but BY far the BEST gloves I have worn...

Thanks for the feedback folks,
I took a leap and sprung for the Held Krypton, and just incase I made a mistake I also got a pair of Joe Rocket SuperMoto short cuff gloves as a backup impulse buy. Both these gloves are SWEET! The Held's along with the roaches seem like it'll survive a nuclear holocaust. They are immediately comfortable and give great feel and offer very nice and full protection although the knuckles are not a 'hard armor' they are very well padded. All in all very happy and not thinking too much about the chunk of loot spent to get them. The Joe Rockets are immediately comfortable also and have great protection, I'm pleased.

Maybe now I can keep some of my 'stripper money' and resume it's originally intended purpose as I hope I've finally purchased the last gloves I'll need for a while.
