Has anyone turned their stock exhaust into a high mount?

From what I can tell any "s" bend midpipe from the likes of Trident or Leo Vinci (see photos) or any other high mount and a hanger bracket that locates the stock exhaust mount up about 4" should do it. The stock can has an awefully long neck/midpipe that could be chopped off an inch or two from the can and an adapter/coupler could be fitted to make the different diameters of pipe meet (stock "neck" large diameter down to smaller aftermarket midpipe diameter).

Stock cans:

I am very interested to know if anyone has done this. It seems like a great idea. Does altering the pipe length and configuration affect the tune of the bike though?

Well, it would add a little bit of length to the midpipe and introduce a bend which would reduce flow a bit--however this change prior to the muffler, which is the restrictor in terms of airflow, so I don't think that it would make a difference in the overall system.

I know that high mount cf TORs reduce weight and add a bit of power, but realistically the added 5hp and reduced 10 lbs (equivalent of 1.5 hp) isn't worth it for me when the dealer wants $750 for TORs. Mostly because I don't have the $750 right now.
