My bike seems to heat up really easily in slow going or especially after a real hard run. Ambient temp here was 80 F on our Sunday ride , but she got hot and fan came on for the past several runs as soon as I slowed down some-temperature on some of these rides was no more than 65F. The fan seems to run a LOT even on the road if you go below 40 mph. Lots of bars!
Is this normal? Bike has less than 1,000 miles on it, TORS, latest remap and runs like stink!

Haven't seen any warm weather with my new toy yet, HiVel, but yes, I've been surprised at how frequently the fan comes on even in 45 degree temps with just a little stop and go. Let's see what others say...

Same here, fan works quote a bit especially in traffic, temps around 20c this time of year. I'm intrigued to see what will happen when we creep towards 40c in summer.

The fan comes on a lot. It's normal. I get 105+ degree temps here pretty regularly in the summer, and the bike never went above 7 bars. Maybe the fan is making a preemtive strike?

The engine heats up super fast (few minutes from cold and the radiator is hot to touch). Five bars at speed and six to seven in traffic with the fan howling most of the time.

They all do that sir.

Other Motorcycle: 97 Bandit 600. Sold & missed.
Mine went through last summer fine.
Like Harris said: 5 bars at speed and 6 to 7 in slow traffic.
Pretty normal, I guess...

Same as HarriS, but only if the temp is above 85F.
Its seems to be running cooler after the mileage went
past 500.

OK-good seems like it is normal. My previous 3 cyl bike with water cooling and a fan was a '72 Suzuki 750 "Water Buffalo" (actually I had two of them) AND THEY NEVER TURNED ON THEIR FANS! I lived in Florida at the time and we did the "test fan" deal just to see if they were functional -they were. I hope you all understand my concern. We are COOL!! (pun?)

Here in CO, lately when I ride to work, it has been about 22F to 25F degrees in the morning on my rides to work. I noticed the fan comes on during my frequent red light stops.

I think your right at status quo.

It's a very small radiator for a liter engine. That was a conscious design decision, and means that the electric fan is an integral part of the cooling process, not just a backup for extraordinary circumstances. That is a different approach from many earlier water cooled bikes.
