K&N lists the same filter for the 2002 (my bike) and 2006 S3s. I have been using a Bosch 3300 filter from Autozone and they cost about $3.

thanks man, I will look at the purolator pure one pl14612 or 4610 the difference is the lenth. one is 2.5 the other 3.25. that site recomended the longer one. mobil 1 m1 108 or 110 same size thing. these are the 2 best filters that they recomend and cross reference to the triuphs. although they don't have a listing for the 05/06 speed triple it's probably the same.

It is. Just picked up an official Triumph filter (made in Japan by someone) and asked about the same thing from the service guys. They said that recent Hinckley Triumphs basicly just have 2 different filter types available and most Honda & co use the exact same ones.

A NAPA Gold 1358 will fit as well. Think they are a few bucks cheaper than the Triumph ones.

Lots of smaller engined Mazda passenger cars use similar filter and many Honda , Yamaha etc. motorcycles as well.

The official Triumph filter is made by Toyo Roki.

I used Amsoil smf 103 or Perform 503 on my 2000 Sprint ST. Since the filters are supposed to fit on the S3 I'll use these on the new bike. Both have been highly rated but are not cheap.

Don't think, either vendor lists the 2005/6 bikes yet on their sites.

I recently bought several K&N filters (KN-191) from the good folks at www.newspeed3.com.
