Okay after seeing just how much crud the rear of my bike achieved after a winter of regular riding I've decided I need a hugger.

Or, to put it another way, I was too lazy over the first year of this bikes life to buy one.

Could anyone post their experience with the various options available? I'd like to avoid the Triumph Factory Hugger if possible, simply due to the expense. I've seen a few other options but would like some input about them.

Vanguard thanks to all and sundry.

I had one on my 02 S3 and it made a huge diference in keeping the rear shock clean.

I should get one for my 05.

I like the stock one. It is the same plastic as the rest of the plastic on the bike and the bolts supplied match the rest. It could be a bit longer, but it does help keep things clean.

I had the Fab products one, and I think it looked like ***** compaired to the OE one. It did have more coverage though...

hey Crash,

I have the factory one. It is cheaper (here in OZ) than any other hugger except for a couple of cheap and nasty ones that have been sh1tcanned on this forum. It does a reasonable job of keeping the bike clean. The best CF huggers that I have seen cost twice as much.

Tamburini makes a really nice CF hugger/chainguard like mine.

Jack Lilley has this one that's pretty wild. Was wondering if anyone had one.

Aluminum Hugger

Well, I guess I was wrong. The factory hugger is $125. The Jack Lilley Aluminum one is $145 + Shipping, and the Tamburini one is in excess of $200. Maybe factory is the way to go?

The Triumph hugger keeps some crud off, but after even a brief ride in the rain (or even a wet road) it is still ***** filthy and in need of a good wash.

I should have put the $$ towards some Staintunes.

cheers,
bundo

I used a sprint st 1050 hugger which fits the s3. I had it sprayed to gold to match the bike. It was black originally. It comes with a chain guard.

The full carbon/chain guard on Jack Lilleys sit looks to be the best but 199 pounds = $345
