I already mentioned this in another topic: did you know that the '06 scorched yellow is slightly different from the '05? My dealer showed me the difference, and there are also different codes in Triumph's parts lists. So when you buy/order colour parts make sure that you get the right colour!!

What's the difference? I haven't seen a 06 in person, so I have no idea. Either way, scorch yellow definately scorches the competition!!! :flam:

One difference right off the bat is the size of the oil cooler.

How about that dealer prep cost, does it really cost $450 to wipe off the cosmoline, put in fluids, document VIN numbers and key codes then give 'er the once over safety/fit and finish check, then take the 'required' 3 mile maiden ride. What is that, 6 hours worth of labor?

Anyhow, congratulations on the new bike, and you've got the best color.

The difference in only slight, but you would certainly notice if you put '06 sidecovers on your '05 bike!

Hmmm...
Last time I went to my dealer I noticed that on a new 06S3 they had there the oil cooler was much smaller (the size of the one on Cornelis bike)... they hadn't noticed yet so they were as surprised as I was... it turns out that the bikes destined to "colder" countries have a smaller oil cooler (at least that was what the importer told them)... it seems they received a bike that was destined for Germany!!

Don't know the implications but be on the lookout if you live in a "warm" country and receive a small oil rad on your precious...

Haha, je komt elkaar ook overal tegen.

Nice, only thing missing is a licence plate.

I just took a quick look at the oil coolers of ES3, Cornelis and myself and it seems that they are all different sizes.

On april 23rd a group of dutch Speed Triple owner's are having a meeting. I'll take some pictures to see if there is a diffence in the oil coolers.

I hadn't noticed it, but in the meantime I've seen that my dealer's demoS3 has the bigger oilcooler, so the story about the country of destination is probably not near to the truth.......
