So I was filling up my S3 this weekend in a swanky Chicago suburb, and a guy pulls up in a Aston Martin DB7 Vantage (MSRP is around $140k). Before he even starts pumping his gas, he makes a beeline for me and starts chatting me up about my bike. He was happy to see that Triumph was "back" and just loved the looks of the S3. And he wanted to be be around when I started it up so he could hear the bark of the triple.

Granted, Its pretty shallow of me to care who likes my bike as long as I love it, and praise from someone with expensive tastes really doesn't mean anything more than from anyone else. But it was entertaining to me, that someone who could obviously afford most any vehicle around, as so interested and excited by my S3.

That sorta thing happens to me often either on my Legend or on the new S3...yesterday a guy in a 94 merc cougar pulled alongside at a light and told me he rode a triumph "bunnyville" across the country in the early 70's :-D
he looked at the S3 as if he was seeing a preview of heaven....

It IS an attention-getting bike. Guys on Harleys wave, little kids on bicycles say "wow, cool bike mister", old women tremble in fear, but a dude in an Aston Martin? We are living in the Golden Age of Motorcycling. We need to milk it for all it's worth.

LOL...I was at a stoplight today and a guy pulls up next to me in a old beat up white delivery truck. He looks over and says.."Hey..you want to race for pinks?" with a big ass***** eating grin on his face. I give him a "Sure, why the hell not" and we proceeded to talk about the bike until the light turned green.

Good stuff...
