Hairdrier first, then they should come off really easily.

I used bug and tar on mine..just make sure to wash it off...or at least wipe it down with water.

I then applied a couple coats of wax and polish.

Lighter fluid. It's the exact same thing as Goof Off and a lot cheaper.

I just peel the stickers off then rub a ball of Blu Tac over the left over glue that is stuck to the tank. The adhesive in the Blu Tac lifts the sticky off the tank without affecting the paint.

I don't know what they call Blu Tac in the states but it's a bit like children modeling clay but sticky. You use it to stick letters and paper to walls.
