I have a 2000 S3 and am considering swapping out my handlebars for clip-ons. Any one here done this? I've seen pictures, but don't know anyone that's done it. Let me know before I waste time/money.

No clipons, but I've gotta say that's a nice garge floor.

I have the Daytoan clip-ons and they are fine but in hindsight I would have bought the Helibars as they are far more comfortable for long rides. As an alternative, you could buy take off clip-ons from an early Daytona (say '97 to '00?) and buy the adjustable bars from SkyKing. Later Daytonas clip-ons are not 2 piece.

I guess it all depends on what you want, but the reason I bought my S3 was to get away from clipons. I love the handlebars on my S3. Perfect fit for me! :-D

I put Vortex clip-ons on my '99 S3. They're amazing, but it's really hard on the back. The Vortex are full race bars, so they're very, very, very low. It handles awesome in the canyons, but I feel like a pretzel whenever I'm not attacking the twisties. I ended up putting some Renthal dirt bike bars on. I left the clips on the the bike and I can swap out the bars in about 30 minutes. When I do a track day, the Vortex bars are going back on, but for normal riding it isn't worth the pain for me.

Well, it must be something I said!! You have done far better than me in getting replies to this same question!

I have bought a top yoke and clip ons off a Daytona, but not used them yet, as I have ordered the LSL alternative for my 2003 S3. They are due thhis week, so I'll post some pics when fitted.
