After some fast spirited riding. I pulled over into a gas station, and looked down at my bike, and there was a puddle underneath. I looked at the engine, and both right and left had oil, even teh top of the engine had oil.

I havent figured out where its coming from. But the oil level was fine.

I rode it slowly home, got into some bumper to bumper traffic and my clutch started doing funny things in first gear. Clank, clank clank noises. The more i stopped and went the more it did. Do i need a new clutch.

When I got home no oil was leaking, but the engine was still wet. I took it easy getting home.

450 miles, the first few hundred were doing over 100mph backroads.

Hrrrm... I'd take the tank off and see if you blew a head gasket or something. Your motor should definitely not be covered in oil.

Hey Roadkill, could look worse than it is.

If you still have a good oil level, then I doub't it's anything more serious than rocker covers. Although you did say your clutch was playing up. In what way?

If it was slipping, what kind of oil are you using? If it was grabbing and the engine was pretty hot, it could be that. I don't really think the two (leaking and clutch) are related.

If it was a head gasket, there would be oil in the water, or water in the oil, one of the two.

I may not be here for a day or so, but PM me if you like.

Mick

dang dude, that sucks! Keep us updated on what you find out! I'm very curious. I believe Miker's right about the blown head gasket thing though. I think your oil would probably be a little milky looking with water getting in it. Hopefully it's nothing major! Good luck!

Havent had time to take the tank off the bike. I wiped the bike down. Started her, and then tried to see where the oil was coming from.

There is no oil gushing out, so its hard to see. On the right hand side, one of the bolts on the side cover was leaking. I tighened all of them.

But there is oil in the left side too.

The clutch wasnt slipping. It was just in first gear, when I started. It wasnt grabbing right, and very jerky. Underway the bike rode fine!

Anyone know where I can get a clutch(not triumph, they want like 300$)

Just took the tank off, then opened the air box, and it was filled with oil.

What does this mean? That I over filled the bike with oil? I recently did a oil change.

BTW, is there a way to clean kn air filters?

You can clean K&N's- thats one of their advantages. Look here: http://www.autoanything.com/products...r_recharge_kit

Keep us posted... I'm curious about your situation!

You may have overfilled the oil, and it is finding it's way out through the crancase breather. If the head gasket was blown, you would most likely be seeing coolant, and hear it blowing out. The oil level should be between the lines on the sight window. About 3.6 Qts. does it for me. Get the level correct, clean off the engine, and the airbox, and see if it contines to leak. If it does, I don't know what to tell you.

Roadkill, one more question, did the bike fall over? Is it any thing like the symptoms described Here?
