Just curious, some of you guys that have had your S3's for a while, what kind of miles do you have on them? Just wondering, if I don't quit riding this thing so much, I'll have 20k on her in about 2 years. But that is about my average mileage, even on the sportbikes I've owned. The highest mileage I've ever had, was around 31k on my 96 CBR900rr, but both of my R1's were real close. I'm thinking the S3 will be in the garage for good, so just curious what's some of the higher mileage's people have gotten with little to no problems. :-D

The highest mileage bike that I owned was my 2000 RS that I bought new in 01 with 2 miles on it, and sold in 04 with 44,500 miles to a good friend. He still rides it to this day and it has around 55,000 miles and still having no problems. My 03 Triple I had for only one year had 12,500 miles on it when I traded it in for my Daytona. The daytona was the lowest milage bike that I have owned with only 6166 when I traded that for my 06 Triple. My 01 gsxr 750 that I have has 22,500 miles. I got that used 9 months ago with 15,000 miles.
I wouldn't worry about that Triple and milage. Triumphs were made to be rode for a long time!!!

I have 20,000 Miles on my black '03 S3. I picked it up new in October 2004 as a leftover. It had 0.2 miles on it. So that makes 20,000 miles in 17 months - or 1176.5 miles per month average. I commute 108 miles per day on my triple (what better way to commute  ) and I ride in all kinds of weather (except when the roads have snow on them ). I have a Pro-Oiler chain oiler for a maintenance free chain and I have the accessory plug for my Gerbings heated jacket and gloves . All I have ever done is regular scheduled service and oil changes. Oh, and I go through tires every 8000 miles or so  which is annoying. I would not switch my Trumpet for anything.

That's what I'm talk'n 'bout! :upthumb: I've read 2 articles in Motorcyclist(I think) before, one of a 93 CBR 900rr with 100k miles, and the other of a 98 R1 with 100k miles. Great stories on the two. I was just curious what some of you guys have actually had.

I had about 12k on my 02 S3, I put a lot of miles on my other bike, have to spread the wealth. Last year my Yamaha got the most mileage.
My goal for this year is
BMW 8-10K
Suzuki 1-2K
Yamaha 4-5K
Speed Triple 3-4k
Plus my friends bikes as well, 996, 916, 748, R1, GSXR-1000, TL-1000, SV-1000, SV-650, FJR1300, K1200RS. I do get to ride as much as possible.
Ton Up!

On the way home tonight I'll clock over 80,000 KMS (50,000miles) on my '99. I bought it in May 2004 with 30,000KMs and do about 120 a day commuting.
In all that time I've had to buy the following - apart from oil changes etc.
1 Cooling fan
2 Chains
2 sets of sprockets
4 tyres
That's it,
Mick

Well, only about 6,500 miles on the 05, but hey I've only had it a year.
My old Trident has close to 45,000 miles on it, and is still going strong. It runs better today than it did at 4,500 miles. I still get to ride it once in a while.
I have an article somewhere about a guy who put over 250,000 miles on a Trident in something like 2 years. He was a dispatch delivery guy. His name should be "Iron Sphincter."
