Issue on my 06 Speed Triple 1050

On Sunday my odometer was proudly reading 803 miles, I adjusted my gear change lights to the new running in 8000rpm maximum...

This morning I fire her up for the run into work and BAM... noticed that my odometer has reset to zero !

Crazy... not my trip meter, my actual odometer... and the strange thing is the clock is acurate... With my experience in computers I would have expected a complete reset... but to have a reset of "just" the odometer seems rather odd....

Anyone else experienced this?

Just went down to re-inspect and noted that the trip button has lost it's "click" ... seems to not want to press in at all.. I resisted the urge to jam a key in there to "solve" the issue...

So the trip meter is stuck on trip 1 which is currently reading 2.7 miles...

hmmmm

Had the RAC out to check it... (in a vein attempt to get it sent back to the dealers to sort the issue)

Seems the trip button is at fault... the button itself appears to have failed...

So it was stuck on "trip1" which indicated 0... but interestingly enough the main display also indicates "0" in the m..... display... I thought this was the overall display from the odometer.. it that the case?

Perhaps it's still recording the actual mileage, but not displaying it? Be interesting to see what the final word is after you get it fixed.

Pretty sure the ECU records your actual mileage and the guage cluster simply reads the output of the ECU. Probably just a faulty cluster.

Just need to pop into the dealer... they just need to check it out... hopefully then it will be just filling out the relevant paper work and getting a new one...

Yes, I can verify this as I got my gauges replaced on warranty and the odo went back to zero.
