nothing but a handful of throttle in 1st gear at 3k rpm and you're staring at the sky by 4k rpm!!! It rocks! :-D

It likes to power wheelie on the first four gears!!!, it takes a little more effort on 4th. The S3 is a wheelie monster. Be careful she comes up very quick on the first two gears.

You are all very evil! Being new to the whole sport bike class, and after reading this post yesterday. I decided to end the ride by "just grabbing an hand ful of throttle" on the way back to the house. Let me assure you, for some one used to riding cruisers this will immediatly result in a skyward view and a little dose of the spincter pucker! :lgh:
Wow - what a wonderful beast. Once I got over the shock of how quick it all happened, I was left with a case of warm fuzzies and a powerful urge to do it again.
Coming from the side of the tracks where Harleys were the ride to have, I never imagined I could have so much fun on a bike..... I wish I would have known about this beautiful little beast years ago. :wow:

Gonna try a ride to work today...... 30 degrees ought to be warm enought - right??

Just wondering, as a (very) near future owner of an S3: what is the normal ratio of the final chain drive, what size of sprockets? Did anyone go for a higher gear ratio, just to reduce the 'risk' of wheelies when you don't want them?

Cornelis, you should be fine with the stock gearing if you don't want them. You can twist the throttle fairly rapidly without the front end coming up, it's just when you give it that whack when it wants to shoot on up with ya. You can accelerate pretty quickly without wheelying(sp?) if you want to!
