First post, so hopefully this isn't an inappropriate one...but what would be a good deal OTD on an S-3 in the US? The nearest dealer basically wants list+tax/tags i.e. not adding prep charges, but I was just kicking tires (I guess those would be tyres) that day...I'm ready to try it & buy it now. I'm not looking to skim the last penny off his margin but I don't want to make his boat payment either.
Thanks for any help, this site has already been a great resource!

Depending on color, don't expect much, if any, discount for a spankin' new one . You might get lucky and find a Scorched Yellow or Blue one for a bit less, but if you are looking for black, or white... it's highly unlikely you will get anything less than list.
BTW, I gladly paid list plus incidentals for mine in August... one of four that were delivered to my dealer... The only four, in black, delivered to date.
To me, 9999.00 is a steal for this bike compared to it's best (not much) competition...

I bought mine a couple of weeks back, and like you said, list +tax, no dice on a black 06. But I got a free pitbull stand with the deal!!, so you can work the dealer for some freebies or discounts on gear
FYI, I saw a blue one on ebay today 05, $7k starting, no reserve!

If you're willing to travel to save a little, try Chattanooga powersports or motorsports(can't remember). They were selling brand new 06 S3's for like $8900 OTD. You just have to pay your tax and license once you get back to your state. But basically that will save ya a grand minus your travel expenses, worth it or not? That's up to you. Good luck!

Thanks 4 the replies...a flight to TN, breakin run to Atlanta to visit my godson then a trip home through Deal's Gap sounds like a good way to spend the 1K I would save :-D
If the local (well, 60 miles away) dealer will give me a demo ride & get in the ballpark with price & or extra merch, I'm sure I would buy from them instead. I really believe in spending money where you live as much as possible.
I have a feeling I am going to love this bike!

Man, the test ride is a must! I liked the looks of the bike and what the mags had to say about it, but nothing turned me onto it like the test ride did! Put it this way, within a month after test riding it, I had my R1 sold and the S3 in the garage! And I had to give my R1 away! Wished I could've kept it too!
Btw, if you decide to take that trip like ya said, let me know when you come back from Atlanta to Deals, I'd be glad to run with ya, I live about 4 hours from Deals Gap! :-D

I went a state over to buy mine last summer because I couldnt find one in my area. I paid 900 below msrp for a neon blue. Was worth it in my opinion The ride back through Pennsylvania definitely made the trip worth while.

In January, here in Northern California, the best deal I could make was $9,900, plus money to the government. In other words, I was able to avoid the delivery & setup charges.

checked out the blue S3 on ebay! Looks cherry! The guys hasn't done any mods which is good IMO. The bike resides in Fletcher, NC, so you could still go do your GA thing and come back thru the gap with the $ you could save with this one! Ebay is where I bought mine, but talked the seller into ending the auction early. Got mine for $7600 last Oct. Bike was only 3 months old with 2200 miles on it! I have a feeling that bike won't get many bids, but who knows, I'd keep an eye on it! If you could get out for around $7500 that would be a sweeeet deal! :-D
