Yeah I am going to be doing the dyno this upcoming weekend with a Power Commander map because the weather is supposed to be outstanding.

My S3 with the Zard and the stock map scares the hell out of people.
Did you try the fix I used? Taping off the inlet to the air injection inside the airbox. No backfires whatsoever with my Zard.
That is certainly something that is interesting and good to know-can you give a quick show and tell ?? I dont know which is what in this bike yet and was considering getting a ZARD but was not confortable with info available to get it running right.

I am definitely goin to try that this weekend before I head over to the dyno. Just for clarity, you have your power commander with a custom map and the airbox mod?

Yep,

Power Commander with O2 bypass and custom map.
Unplugged air injection fan
Small square of tape over air injection inlet inside airbox at the front of airbox.

Should work without PC, give it a try

????

That's a new one.

Do you perhaps mean the solenoid valve?

I don't know, is it the device that's inline between the airbox and the air injection ports? If so, then yes. That's what I mean. I only assumed it's a fan because it looks like one and that's what I thought it's purpose would be. So please, if I missed the mark, do explain it's function.

This is interesting. Somebody had reported earlier that disabling the air injection caused the ECU to freak out and required a total reset to get it back operational. Maybe the computer knows if the entire system is disconnected but can't tell if it's just blocked off.

Well, if it's not a pump, or fan, like I thought it was and it's just a solenoid that opens and closes, then there is no need to disconnect it electrically.

The only reason I disconnected it is I thought it was creating positive pressure and I didn't want it pulling against a dead end plug and overheating.

That would mean the exhaust gas velocity creates enough vacuum to pull fresh air in from the airbox and the solenoid valve just controls when it's closed? This would explain why simply disconnecting it did no good. The valve would stay open and always draw air into the exhaust.

Thanks to Diego for pointing me in the right direction, I think. Is this how the system works Diego?

I am getting TORS (installing by myself) and remapped by the end of this week. I am getting a bit confused that which # software is the latest or equally the best of the ones out there? I am not sure that If our Triumph dealer here in Finland knows about the software versions, due to such small number of sales on S3's.

All help appreciated, wouldnt like to visit too often my dealer, if they happen to download older #map on my S3, eventhou the guys at my dealer are sound!
