With a bike as popular as the S3 is right now and has been for so many years in the past. Why is there such a shortage of selection and availability of aftermarket parts? You look in the back of a magazine and it's like one add out of the 50 or so that you applies to the triumph. Besides Brent's site (newspeed3.com) there aren't too many choices to order aftermarket parts for a bike that I had to wait months to get and still settled for a color that I didn't want. My 1st choice was a Buell Firebolt and that was one reason why I decided on the S3 besides it being an overall better bike and purchase. Maybe I'm missing something and someone can help me and point me in the right direction. I shouldn't have to learn Italian just to get a nice windscreen or other parts for a 10k bike.

I have the same feeling. I can't find anything unique in any magazine or online. On the other hand, I chose my fusion white S3 specifically. It is also really hard to get anyone from Italy, where they have some cool stuff, to return even an email.

Rizoma and MCJ have some cool stuff but good luck getting it.

You guys ever hear of Jack Lilley UK?

Excellent customer service and a decent and growing selection of parts for the 05+ as well as every other Hinkley Triumph out there.

Also, as the weather warms up, I'm going to be spending more and more time in the garage banging out custom aluminum bodywork and flyscreens which I'll eventually hand lay in carbon fiber. If you're interested, let me know what you're looking to buy and I'll see if I can come up with something. I'll charge a reasonable price compared to online and you'll have something one-off.

It really boils down to a matter of economics. The quantity of Japanese bikes manufactured far exceeds the number of Triumphs manufactured. As a result the return on the investment necessary to recover research and development costs is far greater with a larger owner base.

It's a double edged sword... I bought a Triumph because they are unique and not every "Joe Rocket" has one. As a result of wanting to be exclusive, I have to accept the resulting lack of aftermarket parts manufacturers.

I don't like it any more than you do, but it's basic economics at play.

I'll tell you, Brent will be the GOTO guy for S3 stuff in the US soon. He already has a great overall selection of stuff. His site is beginning to rivel that of Jack Lilley. Plus, you get US prices, not outrageous English prices + exchange...

Let's think about this. How much more stuff does one need? There are several rearsets, body stuff, exhaust, suspension, huggers, etc. More stuff is on the way from significant munfacturers. I think the popularity took the industry be storm and the items are just beginning to come off the presses.

I noticed in the few months since I owned my S3, aftermarket parts have been picking up steam. Once everyone figures out how great a motorcycle the S3 1050 is, I feel the aftermarket mftrs will jump on the bandwagon. One part of the bike I thought was very limited was the exhaust. In the last month there has been at least four more brands to choose from and this list will continue to grow by the summer. I just purchased the Arrow exhaust, which is one of the best manufactures of exhausts in the world. The S3 1050 is a Grand Slam and eventually people will take notice, which means more aftermarket parts.

What are you crying about OG-MOON at least for the model year you have there has been an increase of aftermarket parts!! Try finding some things for pre 05 models!! You have allot more new things coming out for your bike that are not interchangeable with older models! By the way stay away from the Jap. infested US mags!! They will only support Co.'s who spend the most advertisement dollars. Stick with the net , join T959.net to find out about other goodies. Lets face it, it used to be hard to get a Triumph over here up until recent years and the same is going to be for any of the parts! We need to let the Co.'s know we are interested in giving them money for the goods we seek and then maybe we will have a wider selection. Until then welcome to our world!

The only thing I really wanted to change was the exhaust and a nice looking windscreen. I found a very nice souding and good performance exhaust at www.redracingparts.com. (G&G Exhaust) Italian of course. It took about a couple of weeks to get it and I love the sound and the look. It seems like the pre 05 modles have majority of the nicer parts at the moment. You can only find the painted radiator cowls on the pre 05 models is what I've came to notice here recently.
