Hey, thats the gearing I'm running right now, and as long as you keep your weight forward, and don't jack too hard on 1st gear during take-off, it stays down pretty well.

There is no doubt that the Daytona is faster than the new 1050 triple, but I wish I would have never gotten rid of my triple for my Daytona. They way my daytona is set up is is faster than most R1s too, but speed isn't everything. In fact I have been trying to unload my Daytona so I can get a new Triple.... they are way much more funner

hey corners, I know this is a whole 'nother subject, but what in the heck do you have done to your Daytona that makes it faster than any R1??? I've owned 2 R1's, and ridden every generation, including the new one's, and they are about as strong as any liter bike you can buy.

I like sex more than going fast on a bike. But, I wouldn't give up riding motorcycles for sex.
Blah blah blahhhh AHH shaadaaaaaap! *SLAP*
Triumph didn't build the Daytona to be a Speed Triple and didn't build the Speed Triple to be a Daytona. Ride what you want and quitcherbitchin'.
Personally, I'll take a supercharged Speed Triple any day over an R1, Daytona, or TurboBusa.

It is faster than 03 and older R1s(1/4 mile track proven). The new 04-06 are just a hair out of it league, but it hangs with them very well. A major factor was gearing (1 down in the front and 2 up in the rear). The next major improvement was useing the Tuneboy program and the Massive mid range tune (it allowed me to rise the rev limiter to squeeze a little more hp, and set the fuel mixture to were it needs to run insted of were it runs to pass emmisions). And as always a K&N air filter and exhaust. That will make the Daytonas scream!!!

Nice corners. Sounds like you or someone you know, knows how to tune that thing. Still wished I had my 02 R1 though, I'd love to give ya a run just for the hell of it! I used to run at the strip alot with my 99 R1, and my F4i that I had in between my 2 R1's. It was fun, just lost interest. Plus, my local track is only 1/8 mile not 1/4, so it was kind of hard to get the R1 thru the trap without looking at the sky the entire time!!! Fun though, definately fun! :-D

Yea, I don' t remember buying my S3 two weeks ago because I thought it was the fastest bike on the street. :???: I bought for its originality, style, and ***** it, its just cool.
I make my bikes my own and enjoy the ride. It beats having a rice burner or oil pit that everyone else owns. :hammer:
I'm with you cheapbastard, you can be a lemming or original.

Seriously, anyone with three brand new bikes (all of them great), biatching about doing it all over again.....so if the Busa is overkill, does that make the S3 better? How about the Tiger and Trophy, the S3 is faster than those so does that make it better.
