Hi,

Anyone have an 05 with a Ventura rack and a fender eliminator?

From the pics on Ventura's website (a stock 05 with the ugly rear fender) it looks like the indicators could possibly get in the way of the rack L brackets.

Cheers,
bundo

I bought mine here and it was inexpensive and fits great. The service from John was awesome as well. And no, I don't work for or get kickbacks from them.

G'day Bundo,

I have the Ventura rack on my 05, but I don't have a fender eliminator, and I do agree that there may be some conflict, with the indicators mounted on a fender eliminator. I haven't removed the fender as I ride in all weather and the fender does provide a measure of protection from the rooster tail that nearly drowns the rider in the wet.

BTW I don't leave the Ventura rack on the bike. It is not the most attractive accessory for the Speed III so I only mount it when I tour and need to carry a bit of gear.

Cheers

Hi John,

I agree that it does'nt really suit the bike but they are very handy to have.

How easy/hard is to remove the L brackets? (on my old GS500 you had to remove half the backend)

Riding down to Melbourne in a few weeks and want a bit more storage than what a tankbag can offer.

Cheers,
bundo

Fitting and removal of the L brackets is easy. They bolt on to the back of the rear footpeg hangers and the bolt that holds the mufflers. There is nothing to remove to fit them. Took me about 15 minutes the first time, now I can do it in 5-10 minutes.

Thanks mate. Looking a bit closer I think the indicators will be ok with the fender eliminator.

My fender eliminator kit from skyking has the holes to mount the turn signals and they fit perfect under the exhaust pipes. I have to get some pics of it. Looks, fits, and rides great. And it was on 77.00 USD. Everywhere else I looked, it $100.00 +! :hammer:

Has anyone tried fitting a hard box on this Ventura Rack. Like a GIVI or any of the other like brands? I really wish they would make something at GIVI for the 05-06 S3.

if you could even point me tward a picture i would appreciate this. thanks
