Afternoon one and all. Thought I would say Hi

names David but go by 'GNOME' the last few years I built and ran a Supercharged GSX1400 which I PXed for a Benelli TNT (if anyone is thinking of getting one - DON'T) then on Saturday I traded that in for a new black 1050, and I love it.

Still running it in at the moment but it wont take long as I can't get off the thing.

Please help yourself to 'virtual pint' on me

.GNOME.

A gnome riding a speed triple?
Heheh, a mental image with a soundtrack immediately sprung into my mind...
A gnome riding at a slightly naughty speed, catching the attention of a police officer hiding in the bushes with a radar, and then the gnome will accelerate and start laughing and singing;

Ha ha ha, he he he,
I'm a laughing gnome and you can't catch me!

quirky - I like you your silly (your also giving your age away)

As I said, I picked the bike up on Saturday but have only managed to clock up about 160 miles so far, but already I am completely in love with this bike.
I have a 50mm shorter rear shock coming from Hagon on Wendsday so I will stand a chance of putting more than my tiptoes on the deck (bit un nerving on 'off camber' junctions. Will let you know how I get on with it at the weekend.

Thanks for the welcome, think I will be keeping this one for a while.

I am?
Well yeah, I'm not 20 any longer, but I'm not THAT old, either. Yes, the Bowie song was released somewhere in the late 60's, but I heard it the first time and got that song on a vinyl not that long ago. It's an old song, but it gets me on a good mood every time.

(Yes, that's to give away another hobby of mine, apart from motorcycling, which is collecting vintage LP records. Or, perhaps I'm just giving away my quirky music taste...)

Just out of curiosity, how much does such a rear shock hack cost?

Welcome Gnome, I am going to say that you made a great choice which I don't think you will regret. Lots of good info here on this site and more then a few very knowledgable Triumph folks on here as well. (me excluded) Have fun and keep one wheel on the ground. (Thats all you can ask because it is ***** near impossible to keep the front wheel on the ground!!!!!)

Cheers

Welcome aboard Gnome

Picked up my yellow S3 on the weekend, (after an interminable wait), and have already put 400kms on it in two days. Now I'm smiling.

Enjoy man

Welcome Gnome,

I hope you get many years of enjoyment out of your new bug eye. My 99 is almost 80,000kms old and still going strong!

quirky - the Hagon comes in at £295 inc VAT and P&P. I went back to Hagon as they built me a set of shocks for the charged 1400 which worked supurbly both on the road as well as the strip, the service is what I call 'old school' as in they actually know what there on about and they go out of there way to ensure you get exactly what YOU want.
