Just finished putting a set of woodcraft clip ons on the cafe conversion of my s3 and they look great. A couple things do need to get re routed to make room but it only entails the clutch cable and throttle cables. They're quite light over the conventional bars and clamp system and a bit lower than using Daytona bars but since I'm 6'2" with long arms they're quite comfortable. As for getting the grips off the Triumph system with the throttle assembly comes off with ease and the clutch side comes off without really trying too hard. Now the fun part will be learning how to ride the ol girl again. Once I get some pics I'll post em in the member gallery.

Cheers
Scott

Great to hear that the project went smoothly and that they look great! Do you have any concerns about the switches touching the tank now?

I hear what you are saying about the height and reach! I've been feeling like my arms are a bit to long for these stock bars. As I've never ridden a bike with stock bars for longer than a couple of weeks, these give me a feeling of simply 'hangin on' rather than being firmly attached to the bike.

I've been considering the woodruffs for a bit now so I guess I'll order then today! Thanks Scott.

Glad to hear the installation went well, I think the woodcraft's are very well made and I've been really happy with them. I also have longer arms I suppose, because I don't find them uncomfortable at all. The difference in feedback from the front end is very noticeable. I had my front wheel bearings go out in February and I could feel it coming through the clip-ons like nails on a chalkboard. Hope to see you up at Loudon sometime this year. My friends Ilya, Paul, and Caleb are racing up there so I'll probably be up there a few times to check it out. Here's to warm weather ahead.

Sorry TT Four, I always hold on to my stock parts,
but good luck.

In the meantime, I just thought I'd drop everyone a note letting you all know that "BackOrder" from Woodcraft is the equivalent of "OnOrder" from everyone else. I ALREADY received my 45mm Clipons, and I wasn't expecting them for AT LEAST another week. Those folks do mighty fine business!

You may be better off going with Heli bars or something similar. If you went with S3 bars, you'd need the bars, the clamps and the top triple clamp. You'd probably also need a new clutch and brake cable.

just thought i'd revisit this thread as i received an installed my woodcraft clip on last thursday.
I must say that i really enjoyed my s3 for the first two weeks i had it. After the fuel leak was (temporarily) fixed my enjoyment increased.
but now that these clips on are on the bike i can finally say that i love this little devil. I no longer feel like i'm clingin on to the bike. I can accelerate and pick up the front wheel slightly without worry.
overall the whole package is just a lot tighter, and freeway miles are much easier and feel much much safer.

install was cake, the only set back was drilling the new bars to accept the controls. (nyspeedtriple had already clued me in on this).

so far i've got nothing but love for woodcraft and their products.

After experimenting with a couple of configurations, I decided to get the Woodcraft clipons and did a trial fitting last night. Youch! Being 6'1" I wanted to be lower and more "connected" to the bike, but I fear this may be a little extreme....
Did you guys install them angled downward (seems pretty extreme to me), or upward (would seem like the bars would end up in a more horizontal placement, allowing for less of a forward body lean).
I suppose I can just try it both ways, but was wondering what others had experienced.
Thanks,
MarkB.

Hey Mark,
What do you mean angle down or up? I think there's only one way to install them though I could be wrong. There's a picture in my photo album of how I installed mine:
