Well... these have been quite unusual days here in Portugal. We saw snow in places where hadn't been none for the last 60/70 years!

Coming back from my weekend trip to my grandparent's for the traditional winter pig kill (yes I know, we're 3rd world savages  ) under a freezing rain storm when, all of a sudden in a matter of seconds, the temperature drooped and the road ahead was struck by a hail storm from hell!

After this small elevation in the road I was surprised by maybe 2" of ice and... well... the rest is history.

She arrived 2/3 hours ago at my local Triumph gurus.

-Oil rad busted with no chance of recovering.
-Main rad twisted
-Right pegs, both rider and passenger, in need of replacement.
-Front and back brake levers busted.
-All 3 right covers gone bad.

The frame's intact. glad I bought the carbon frame protectors.
Stupid of me not to install a couple of lsl sliders, though.

dang man, that sucks! I couldn't imagine running into ice on the road with only 2 wheels underneath me. That's gotta suck! Sounds like you need to invest in some studded tires! :-D I hope all goes well in your repairs, good luck on getting her back on the road!

We kill pigs all the time here in Oklahoma. We even bury them and let um' cook. Then we eat them. Texas is much more primitive.I can't tell you what they do with pigs and sheep.

Bad luck drainbamage, glad you're OK, tough little buggers the S3's

had a similar off myself a couple of weeks ago on sheet ice, watched a Bandit 1200 go down in front of me as well, should have kept my eyes on the road, not that it would have helped!.

Ebay provided me with the bits I needed, amazing what other triumph parts fit when you're desperate to get back on the road.

Good to hear you are ok. Hope you are able to get back on your bike ASAP. As for the slaughtered pigs I go to Ecuador every few years to visit family and driving down the road people just hang the whole carcass on their roadside stand for you to buy, and they always have at least one cooking, I love the taste!

Crashing sucks! Glad you are okay.

As for pigs, being from North Carolina and now living in the state of Washington (where they haven't a clue to what real BBQ is), I've bought a smoker and do my own. Now I want to go wild pig hunting and try smoking it!

Totally forgot about this thread!!! Ooops!

She's been up and running since the Saturday before last... it took around 1000$ but she's as good as new... actually she feels better than new! The air filter was kind of dirty!

My insurance was of little help... just to invoke the ***** thing I'd have to pay >2000$ for a total repair cost of 2300$!!! So I went and repaired instead of putting new...

Thanks for the kind words. I never thought I'd receive so many comments about the pig!!!!!!!

You guys're crazy!
