06 Headlight Connector

The shop manual 17.4 shows a small connector which
would slip out the back of the bucket so the headlight
pigtail can be removed from the harness. In my bike the entire pigtail has a protective cover ( with a zip tie near
the grommet ). I can locate/feel where the small connector
is? What am I missing?

Are there spade type connectors on the big plastic piece that connects to the back of the H4 bulb? If you can get them off the plastic without breaking it you could slip the wire out of the dome.

Hi Martin. I tried to get the spade connectors at the bulb socket off first but there must be a metal tang holding them in place. I was afraid I would break the plastic. If I can't find the secret connector shown in the manual I'll have to cut
the entire bundle.
Thanks for the suggestion anyway. I'll wait to see if anyone else has the solution.
