is there any difference in the power ratings of Speed Triples sold in california, and other areas of the country? For instance, i know that cars sold in califonia are equipped with special emissions equipment thatn reduce the power output, while the same vehicles sold elsewhere are not equipped. This is due to California's emissions laws. Any ideas triumph fans?

From looking at the service manual the only difference I noticed for California models was the addition of a carbon canister and related plumbing to capture fuel vapors off the tank. This shouldn't affect the power rating at all.

The canister is supposed to be located behind the throttle bodies and the return valve is listed as adjacent to the frame left hand side. The rest is just hoses running to the idle bypass lines, the canister, the return valve and the fuel tank. The return valve is controlled by the computer and a trouble code will happen if you disconnect it. I'm not sure how you can get past this. :???:
