OK, I've decide on an S3.
( BTW. It was between the S3 and the new Monster S2R)
So in the US of A, what's an expected out-the-door price? The local dealer so far has said MSRP $9999 + $500 freight, but he's willing to talk if I find a better deal. This is for a 2006 bike.
TiA,
Rich

Hey Rich, my dealer in Greensboro was offering me a 05 around September of last year for $10300 OTD! And that was with fly screen, belly pan, seat cowl, and anodized radiator sides! The bike had been demo'd though, but only twice, and one time was by me! It only had 25 miles when I test rode it. I think it had around 55 or 60 when I brought it back. It was a killer deal, but I found a better deal on a used one! Also, I think it's Chattanooga Motorsports will sell you a 06 for around $8800 OTD! Of course, you'd have to pay your state's sales tax, once you registered it. Check them out, I think there's a link on this site!

Why so cheap in the US ? Here in Oz they are $15,990 + OTR costs, $16,700 OTD. Converting that to US $ is still £12,550 US !! You can get them for £10,000. You should all buy 2 and quit moaning I reckon. They are even more than that in England. Whats the weather like in the US.............!

Hey AJM216, they don't have 05's anymore, so that price is not valid. I called back in Sept or Oct and they were already out of 05's and supposed to start receiving 06's. But good thing is, there 06's weren't that much more, and the price they list, is usually OTD!!! They don't charge freight and setup, and if you're out of state, no sales tax! You just have to pay your state's sales tax once you get it back and register it! Go pick you one up, if they have any left! :-D

I just bought an '06 this past weekend. Here in Northern California, I had to work fairly hard at three different dealers to get a discount of $700, which just about offset the ~$700 freight/setup charge.

Picked up my (wonderful!) '06 S3 last week in December. OTD was $11K even, including tax, title, flyscreen, shop manual. REALLY OTD. (Should have tried to negotiate the first service as part of the deal - never thought of it...) BTW, I can't IMAGINE your not loving the S3. Good luck!

11,200.00 OTD first run 06 in August. This is taxes, dealer fees etc. Well worth it, a serious value IMHO... But then again I ride a 6500.00 road bicycle...
