Fitting a 2005 1050 exhaust on my 2004 955i Speed Triple

Hi Folks,

I am looking for some advice whether it is feasible to fit a 2005 Speed Triple silencer on my 2004 955i Speed Triple?

I have read of others putting a full 1050 exhaust system, including headers, on my model, with no running problems.

The exhaust headers on my bike have already been cut by 40mm to accommodate a Zard silencer that the previous owner fitted.

I would like to put a Competition Werkes 2005-2007 Triumph Speed Triple GP Slip-On Exhaust on my bike. Or, something similar such as a LeoVince GP Style EVOII Slip-On Exhaust?

Is this possible and would it create running problems for my bike?

Any thoughts will be appreciated, cheers

This part is easy. Whatever 'running problems' you might encounter are easily addressed using TuneECU, a cable, and a notebook computer. Plenty of info around here about those things.

TuneECU is a great piece of software developed by Tom Hamburg. And, generously, it's free to use. Many thanks!

I have already used it to upload a new map to the ECU.

Most dyno centres only work with Power Commander over here, so it would prove difficult to get a custom map built for a new silencer, if needed.

Does anyone have any thoughts/knowledge about using a 2005 exhaust on my bike??

That is not quite correct - Tom would be the first to acknowledge Alain Fontaine as the Creator/Developer/Maintainer of the actual software program - Tom does a great job in maintaining a website to host it along with a great users guide and library of tunes.

I have negotiated a good discount off a black Zard, slip on silencer, for my 2004 bike.

I decided to proceed the easy way.

Happy days!
