Make your own tail tidy/fender eliminator 09 S3

Gonna make my own tail tidy because I have no desire to pay the outrageous prices for something that looks fairly simple. Anybody already made their own on this body style with any pics or pointers? Help would be greatly appreciated

I'm thinking along the same lines.

I can probably get something pushed through our workshop as a guvvy. I can knock up the sheet metal design and relevant dxf's for bending. I just need to sort out a suitable design and dimensions.

I was looking at this kind of thing to get the indicators up over the pipes

Never seen a good home made one for our model 08-10 its not easy especially mounting the indicators.Easier to do for the 05-07.I have an r&g its ok but not as nice as the rizoma, but they are silly money. In hindsight I would left as stock,if it rains you get soaked from tyre spray and find all sorts of crap over the rear seat. The weather maybe kinder where you live but I would have a think about it.Brumfitt's is a 2012 different proposition.

You should be able to find a few examples with a google search. I spend hours looking and eventually decided that it wasn't worth the hassle. I love doing things myself, but in this case, there really isn't a great way to DIY.

I can second that you get covered in water and grit when it rains. I have the RG and it looks really nice (especially since i also went with the turn signal integrated tail light) but you do get covered when it rains. its still a worthy trade off for me though, because the stock unit looks terrible IMO

I don't use blinkers as you don't need them in Texas, took the ugly buggers off the day I bought the bike and as far as tire spray, I road an 08 buell lightning with a tail chop and nothin tops that as far as tire spray, wasn't a bother at all to me. I've made 5 for all different bikes dont ses this being any harder just wanted some ideas

I'm not worried about indicators or pipes, I have the arrow triumph 3-1 and don't use blinkers

The only way to do it with what you have got is to hack the end off as neatly as possible.Im sure someone on here did it but I cant find the post.
