So, I think we all agree that the Speed Triple is the best naked bike on the planet (the forum subtitle says so) but which naked bike takes second? If the Speedie didn't exist, what would you have instead? A CB1000R, Ducati Streetfighter, maybe an older Honda 919 or an SV650, or something else (let's leave the Street Triple out of this).

I would probably go for either the Yamaha FZ1 or the Honda CB1000R.

I used to own an FZ6 and it was a fantastic bike. From what I hear/read the FZ1 is just a glorified upgrade. My girlfriends brother in law owns a new CB1000R and it is a gorgeous bike and he loves it.

Fck Ducati!

I honestly don't think I would have a nekkid bike if it wasn't for the S3. It was the beauty of this particular bike that drew me to it. If I didn't have my S3 I would probably have a Sprint or maybe even a Bonneville SE.

Well, personally I think the Street Triple is the best naked on the planet but I have not rode all nakeds out there. I hear the new Aprilia Tuono is super nice and many argue even better than the Speed. If the nakeds didn't exist, I would probably stick with either the CBR1000RR or a CB1000R or similar.

It would be something from pasta land. Duck or Aprilia. Not sure which specifically as I haven't thought about it that much. These days my thoughts for a next bike have been leaning towards a Tiger 800 XC - I've got an itch to see the arctic circle, and although I do some touring on the Speedy, I think that's a bit outside it's area of expertise.

Ducati Monster 1100. Almost bought one before my S3. I still think the motor has more character... less power and reliability, but still more character. The Tuono V4R is an awsome bike, but I have a hard time considering it a naked bike.

I'd go for the Tuono first ( I passed on that for the S3) or the StreetFighter.

I own a Speedie because, well, it's a triple, it's a Triumph, it's more than fast enough for me, it's comfortable, and other people seem to gather around whenever I stop.

If I wanted to have the 'best' nekkid bike, I'd probably buy....

Oh wait...

I own it already.
