011' s3, is the rear caliper floating or is mine just loose some how? I can move the entire thing (caliper bracket and all) where it mounts around the rear axle....

re loose caliper

Think you will find all of the rear calipers do have a little back and forth movement; I know my 2010 does. Doesn't seem to have any rattle on the road and definitely performs well. My only complaint is the amount of brake dust the rear brakes generate. Front brembos seem to have a much better quality pad material. I will be looking for similar compound for the rear next time. Check with your dealer if you are concerned about the caliper play. The bike should still be within the manufacturer's warranty period.

Rear brakes 2010s3

I have a 10 model and noticed the rear brake feel strange, discovered disc stuffed and pads gone. This is at 17k. Had service at 10k - not a mention of a rear pad issue. Has anyone had a similar issue.
Ps. I also have a BMW for touring and have done 33k in 9 months with no rear pad issues, so I assume you can't blame it on my riding tech.
Any thoughts helpful as I am taking to the dealer Monday

The pins on the rear brakes can become easily fouled and the brakes drag.
