09 S3 145mph top speed?????? How????

I keep hearing and reading that top speed is 145ish or somewhere roundabouts. But I fail to see how that is possible, my bike does 130 in 3rd when I shift to 4th, so how is it that the the first 3 gears covered 130mph but with 3 left it only covers another 15? I haven't tested it but I find it highly unlikely. Explanations or opinions?

It's all about gearing, not sure about the conversion but 260kph is pretty uncomfortable without a fairing. So technically it can do it but really why would you?

I've hit 145mph with my 07 Speedy and there was still room to go..

Are these bikes governed?

According to gearing commander the 1050 should only be able to do 106mph in 3rd with standard gearing. 130mph in 4th is more realistic.

It's all about moving air. Faster you go the more power you need to overcome the friction of drag. Don't know what the formula is, but to increase your speed 10% you need something like 25% more horsepower and those numbers increase as you accelerate. Should have paid attention in math class !

No **** Sherlock, if I wanted people to come on here and tell me that air creates more drag at higher speed I would have asked for that, congrats congrats captain obvious.

Now the point is, and the rate its still accelerating after 130 I am stating that it is a physical impossibility for it to top out at 140something 160 seems more likely to me but I guess I'll just have to give it a shot

This was my #1 concern, seems the only way an s3 would be stopped at 145 is with a governor
