09 S3 145mph top speed?????? How????

The top I have had mine was 151, I was not on a great road for this and was running out of straight. It was at redline, or I think I was as all lights were on. Like I said it was not a good road so watching everything to see exactly what was what besides speed was a challenge.
I get 130+ often but would never consider taking my bike to that speed in 3rd or 4th for that matter.

That's Tekmoe from the bad site. He is going 158mph indicated, but is not actually going 158mph. As stated, the S3 speedo(and tach) are NOT ACCURATE at the top. They both indicate quite a bit higher. I will believe it when I see a GPS running in the video as well. Especially since the speedo is adjustable, and I can do 200mph in 2nd gear, if I really wanted to...

Best guess is ~145mph actual (corrected for speedo error) for that indicated 158.

Get a grip folks. I think Triumph got things pretty much right with the S3 gearing. It'll be right at redline in top gear, and it doesn't get better than that. Pump up the power a LOT (and 5hp won't buy you more than 1-2mph, so that $1000 pipe ain't sh&t), change the gearing a perfect amount to match the power boost, and you might get an honest 155 - but it'll cost you several thousand dollars.

LOL - my Aprilia Falco said I went 176mph. Sheeyeah, right.

FACT: The only way this bike will hit rev-limit in 6th gear, is on a dyno. It does not have the power to push all the way up when she is in the breeze.

FACT: At 130mph, I already feel like I have gone to plaid, so I really don't care.

also I must respectfully disagree. I am running 18/45, and the bike has a little more "zip", but also is pulled up out of its trouble area of 3500-4500 RPM.

Yea i was considering running a 45 but as easily as it gets vertical at 65mph I'm afraid to go with a 45 because then I would have to slow to 55 or slower to be in prime wheelie rpms. I don't wanna have to drop that low on the hwy

All I know is that around an indicated 140 my Lanesplitter mirrors self-fold, so that's when I know I'm approaching 'done'.
