Mivv Exhaust 08 S3 (quesiton)

I bought this MIVV exhaust off here a little while back, just got around to putting it on.

I can't seem to make the mounting hardware work. Is anybody running the exhaust on an 08 that could provide a picture.

They give you a bracket to mount behind the fender on the foot peg mounts, but I can't seem to get that and the mount on the exhaust to meet up.

I have the competition werkes pipe on there now, was looking for something a little more quiet.

Also, there was some wire mesh in the exhaust connection, after trying to wrestle in the new exhaust I dislodged it, is got some back in there.

Is that heat wrap, I need to replace it to get a better fit?

First of all, you sure that MIVV pipe is for an 08? I see what looks like an O2 bung on the little midpipe which, as far as I know, should only be there for 06 and earlier.

Second of all, if you havent alredy done this, remove the spring clamp and loosen the bolt on the bracket. This will make it easier to get it into the right mounting position and will give you the best chance of proper fitment. Once its all lined up, then reinstall the spring clamp and tighten down all the bolts.

I think Ebster nailed it.

That pipe is for the 05 to 07.5 with the longer header .

Doh!

Ha ha. Sorry buddy, shoulda done that homework.

If it makes you feel any better, the headers are interchangeable, so you can get an early set cheap enough..

It has a bolt to close off the 02 sensor hole, supposted to work for 05 and up.

Spring clamp is not the problem, it's the mount in the middle of the exhaust, I can't get it to line up.

Sorry to let you guys down, seems like you were really excited that I may have gotten the wrong exhaust.

The longer header thing does make sense, that's what seems to be the problem, it's like 3-4 inches from where it needs to be.

Here is the ad for it, bought it off a guy on here. He said it would work for 08s and up, was he not right?

It wont work.

Look at how your bike is set up now. The O2 bung is on the header, not the midpipe. The same will apply to any aftermarket exhaust you get.

Either buy an earlier header to make this fit, or return the piece to the seller and get something different.
