Motomfg Bike Lift / Paddock Stand Group Buy (Now Extended through Dec 25)

Success! Finally, that is. Quite the ordeal trying to get the bike balanced front to rear so both tires are off the ground. I still have to finagle the stand into place since I had to angle the adapter plate in order to get both tires up. No simple roll into place and throw the lever. I might try to adjust it more tomorrow, but have run out of patience for that today. And the hex I had to buy was a 3/8 inch for the stand...all the other hexes I've got are metric.

I ended up with a nyloc M10x1.50 nut afterall, despite not seeing the recommendation until after the fact.

All said and done, I'm happy with the stand

Don't waste too much time trying to correct that. If the bike's level when raised then you have the correct settings. The assembly instructions make it quite clear that both pins may not line up and you have to insert one pin then raise the handle to get the stand to "pivot".

At first I didn't understand what could "pivot" because the only movement of the stand is vertical. I wasted a lot of time getting both lifting pins to line up and then wondering why my bike wasn't level when raised. Finally I figured out that raising the handle takes the weight off the stand causing it to tip so both pins align. Simply rolling the stand into place, inserting the pins and lifting is impossible to achieve with my Sprint if I want it anywhere near level. I contacted Greg and he confirmed that is indeed the case. If I'd realized that I could've had this thing set up in 5 minutes. Yes, it's stated quite clearly in the assembly instructions but I was trying to achieve what I saw in the video on Motomfg website. Maybe that applies to some bikes but definitely not my Sprint.

Recognize that applies with the Sprint, (& also the Street) Champ:.. With my and Jeremy's S3 set-up it was indeed possible to slide in and still have both ends off the floor - therefor it should be possible for the Daytona also (if desired) - that's more a bonus for us than a detriment to the others, given that the fundamentals expect the pins will not align
But the best advice as you suggest is just to set up per the recommended procedure and learn/practice operating technique

I received my stand on Thursday, and just got finished putting it together. The whole process took about an hour, 15 minutes of which was spent at the neighbor's to get a 3/8" hex wrench (all the bolts are SAE). For anyone still on the fence, this is a quality stand and will really make working on the bike easier. Being able to wheel the bike around alone is worth it, so be sure to add on the caster set.

Add me to this group. Once I abandoned the notion of "level", I now have a setup that allows me to slide and lift with ease...pretty much like the video. This stand becomes more awesome every time I use it!

Do you think there will be another group deal after this one ends. I'm tapped out after holiday shopping for the family. 13% may not sound like much but I'm planing on getting the the 46mm socket and the chain adjuster. It adds up.

Anyone know if they would sell an extra bushing? I think that is what the part that goes on the bike is called. My brother has an 09 street and i have a 12 and we were thinking of splitting the cost for one but would need two of the pieces that go on the bike.
