Yesterday I shredded my Continential 190 rear tire, so today, I had the shop install a Dunlop D208RR, and tomorrow, they're putting on a matching front, as well as doing a full 12Kmile service. It's a small bike shop that works on almost all brands, and they quoted me 360.00 for a full service, including valve adjustment, Synch throttle bodies, change all fluids, lube cables, clean, oil adjust chain, tighten nuts and bolts, basically everything Triumph does for 700.00 bucks or more.

I'll post back in a couple days to let everyone know if the valves needed adjustment if anyone's interested. My bike has 12800 miles on it. L8R, Dave

I picked up my '02 S3 from my shop over the weekend for its 6K service... Just out of curiousity, I asked how much the 12K service was, because I knew it was very extensive.

They estimate 8.5 hours in labor involved. They basically tear the bike apart, check and refresh anything, and put it back together... Given the current labor rates, that puts it at around $680-$700 bucks for the labor only - not counting any replacement parts they'll have to put on...

Yup, you're reading my mind. They're one of those high volume "macro" dealers that sell everything from Harleys to liter repli racers. They've steadily been losing points with me ever since I had to deal with the sales manager on the price and financing. He was the stereotypical car salesman-type. Ordering parts and accessories through them was an even bigger hassle - if it's not a Harley or a Honda, they're not interested. The latest fiasco with my 6K service was the last straw...

Unfortunately, I'm stuck with this shop/dealer until July (when my two year warranty and pre-paid maintenance package expire)... Then I'll be looking for a new dealer...
