Did a dyno run today to check if my single can has caused any issues... It is running a tiny bit lean, not quite 14.0 straight across the line. Not much of an issue according to the mech. The HP and torque curve was super smooth straight across. Max HP almost 108... I didn't get the max torque... I could though.

Not bad. I'm thinking of a power commander in the spring to get the lean condition tuned out, should get about 5-10 out of the adjustment.

I don't have a way to get the graph into the PC so I can't show the visual.

hey geof3, how many runs did they give you? 108hp seems low compared with mag #'s, but they usually seem to run higher than most dyno's I've seen anyways. But I've seen 119hp bone stock, and I would think your's would be somewhat comparative with the mag's stock #'s. Any idea what gives???

Hello all.

I had my 05 triple on the dyno in october and it measured 107.8 with the stock exhaust and stock map. I too was hoping for about 119 or so but no deal. i am wondering if they don't give the magazines a bike with a strong motor for that very reason (most people won't have their bike dynoed). My bike only has about 1,500 miles on it.

I now have the Triumph off-road (TOR) exhaust on and it sounds great. I will have it dynoed again with the stock map, and then with the triumph TOR map prior to considering a powercommander and a custom map (which will cost $500).

More in several weeks due to a nail in my back tire.

get the triumph off road remap! Made a pretty good difference on how mine ran with the TOR's. HP gain, I'd guess a few, but nothing real noticeable, just more snap right off throttle!

I don't think it's a motor thing, I think that these engines will begin to increase horse power/torque as the miles get a bit higher. Mine has 3500. Most on the site mention a steady increase in overall power through at least the first 10k.

BTW my peak torque was 68ftlbs and was basically a flat line through out the roll ons. Pretty consistant too. Top speed was 137.

Triumph claims the 1050 has 10hp more than the 955 but seems like it is the same or less.

I think we all ought to write these mags, and ask them how in the hell did they get those #'s that they got? Sounds like some going on somewhere if you ask me! I can understand a fluctuation of maybe 5-6+/-hp but over 10, come on, something's going on. Geof3, I'm sure that all motors do loosen up and get more hp as they get some mileage on them, but I would bet that none of these test bikes in the mags had 10k miles or more.

Triumph claims 130hp at the crank and that means about 113rwhp with typical 13% losses. With free breathing cans it should be somewhere in the 115-118hp range. Substract about 2hp for SAE numbers.

How were those "low hp" ones run in? Following the manual with light throttle and low rev limits or loaded hard to seat the rings?
