i took mine to snetterton on monday and was very surprised at how good it was. seemed to go past most things on track with ease. check out the vid.

i know the camera is badly positioned and im a bit gutted really as this was prob the best lap of my life but just count the trackbikes that i go past.

also this is just 5 mins taken from just after the warm up lap. it carried on like this for 20 mins

I've had my Speed on the track three times now and it's been a lot of fun. I'm already planning track days for the rest of the year, after I've finished moving to New Orleans (in a few weeks). I rode the new NOLA track back in May (on a BMW F800) and it's awesome.

On the Speed, wind blast at 120+ mph gets a bit rough so I've only been running ~130 mph on the straights, but you can really enjoy the corners. Power wheelies were very common the first track day but I'd learned to compensate by the end of the day. If you get in a low gear and get on the gas hard exiting a corner then you'll get a big grin but your fork seals probably won't thank you

So do the track staff get mad if you power wheelie? Obviously its not on purpose but just wondering. Hard not to do with this bike.

I'm planning on a new set of tires before next season and my first track day (after break in of course). I have the '08 speedy and the Metzeler M3's run stock on mine. Will these work for a track day? I'd like to be able to run the track once or twice so I don't want to buy 'track tires', but would like to be able to corner effectively while I'm there.

What kind of tires were you running?

What group level do you run in? Looks like it could have been even faster laps if you would hit all your apexes. When you got a clear track in the corners it should be a bit more consistent. I'd like to see your body positioning.

thanks for the good replies guys. you can see a couple of times the sport bikes pull away on the straight but i catch them all on the brakes. i wasnt really going 10/10ths but it really was easy passing on the brakes. im so pleased with the bike.

swags13, as long as you got good conditition tyres youll be fine on your first trackday.

ride. im in the middle group. i dont think im far off from hitting apexes and what you cant see is my veiw from the camera angle. its likely im setting up an overtake.

hoping i can get some pics soon and youll be able to see the body position
