Hi fellow triple maniacs!

A few months ago someone talked about installing the scottoiler. I took a few pics but, alas, lost the CD... I found it yesterday, so here they go:

The full picture. Taken outside of work, in Lisbon, Portugal. (this was before the windscreen and the lower faring.)

The thinggie up closer. You can see how the reservoir is "strapped" to the frame. The photography-impaired bald guy is yours truly!

Another close up. Nothing new!

Tilted view.

The breather hose.

Another view of the breather thing.

It's a sweet system.

Drop a word if you'd like more photos!

Have fun!

Scottoilers are automatic chain lubricators. I have one on my Trophy and had one on my TT600. Just changed the chain and sprockets on the Trophy after 40,000 miles many say you can get even more from the chain.
Going to put one on the S3 after Christmas. Supprised you didn't know of them. The link below will take you to the scottoiler site, click on your model and see the fitting instructions.

I would disagree Mad.
Had one for 5 years on the Trophy with the correct setting you never have to touch the chain. if yours droped oil it was set to high. You can also get different oils for the summer and winter.
Get one you wont be sorry.

That's cool. I had it set to the lowest setting of 1, and the ***** thing still oiled down the rim and tire. I sold the bike and the new owner removed the Scottoiler.
Yes, it does a good job of oiling the chain.

drainbamage,

Great photos! This will help with my install. Since I have been riding BMW's that last few years I have not had a wheel cleaning issue. Oh, no wait? I found that there is plenty of gunk even on BMW wheels to clean off. Using S100, with a brush, I have found removing wheel gunk to be rather easy. I hope the same will be true on the S3.

Anyway, can you add some pictures of the oiling side of the system. Greatly appriciated.

:-D

i second that. can we have pictures of the tube at swingarm.

and how hard was finding the hole for the spigot (did you have to remove the tank)?

p.s. you know the side panels on the triple, how do you get those silly plastic screws out?
