There is some speculation as to whether or not the magazine or just the individual merely staged the photo as a joke since the old-school bonnevilles used to be chopped on a regular basis back in the day. My father started out on chopped Triumphs though I don't think he ever did the ape hanger thing.

I had clip-ons on my S3 for the last 4 years and recently put the stock bar back on. I feel exactly like the guy in the pic. The stock bars feel like ape hangers compared to motoring around with clip-ons.
