Rizoma indicator wiring queries

I have decided to order 4 Rizoma Track 77 indicators for my '06 Speedie. I was at Jack Lilley's so I picked up the LED compatible relay but I'm not such what the rest of the gubbins in the boxes for.

I had hoped that it would be a case of removing the relay that clicked when you put the indicators on and putting the new one in. What are the rest of the wires and connectors for and the rubber whatsit?

When I get the indicators will the connectors be plug and play?
Is it best to remove the OE lenses and pull the wires through to remove them?
Any tips would be gratefully received.

Its best to remove the wiring from inside the indicators at the front will save you a lot of work easy enough to unplug the connectors at the back from the loom. You will not need the resistors(long thin black rubber coated items) if yours come with load boxes (fatter plastic boxes) you must use these.I dont know if they still use load boxes mine did, some other member may know this?

Rizoma indicators should not come with load boxes anymore. So all you should need to do is replace your existing relay with the new one. The rest of the wires I think are an adapter that should not be necessary.

You have options for fitting the indicators. The new Rizoma indicators will not come with the Triumph OEM connectors. So from memory you will need new bullet style connectors (or similar). I got some from Halfords.

Option one is to remove the tank and airbox, bit of a pain but its good to know how to do this. Then disconnect the front indicators. On my bike I then snipped off the connectors from the old indicators (with a few inches of wire attached) and using bullet connectors, attached them to the new indicators. Re-install airbox/tank and job done. Probably a cleaner install.

Option two is to disconnect the original indicators by removing the lenses and connect the new indicators to the existing wire using bullet connectors. The only problem with this route is you need to cut the Rizoma wires short, thus destroying any resale value! Also you will struggle to hide the new connection as it will be full view.

That would be really helpful.
Is it obvious where the indicator wires go once you remove the tank?

spend $26 on these and plug 'em directly in.

it was worth it to me, and I'm completely comfortable with wire splicing. it's hard to find good quality connectors around here, so I didn't mind waiting for these to be delivered.

You also need to remove the airbox to access the indicator connections. Its easy though and is held on with two bolts at the back. There are two electrical connectors and three (ish) tubes to disconnect. Its easy but you need to remember to reconnect everything afterwards...

The indicator connectors sit on top of the engine and you cant miss them. If you are unsure you can follow the wires back from the indicator itself. I would go for the above Rizoma indicator adapters as they will make things very simple.

They do them here (UK) pretty cheap:
