Anyone come accross aftermarket horns at are easy to install on the new the SP3 2005. The current one is not suitable for dealing with half brained - half asleep drivers here in Australia.

One that sounds like a police siren would be sweet. Just be happy with a really loud one.

Cheers
Vic

I have a FIAMM Freeway Blaster. Mounts in the stock place, and is 139 db. Check your auto parts or discount store.

Hey Speed3,

Is the Fiamm Freeway Blaster a straight bolt on, with no relay required? Any chance of a photo?

Cheers,

Hey VB,

I heard about this one on the t595.net. The Stebel Magnum, which can be mounted as a double with two tones, or a single with either a high or low tone. The single is rated about 135db which is much better than the stock which sounds like about 50db on my bike.

The Stebel Magnum is apparently available in Australia but I haven't been able to find one. You can get them from Nippy Normans for 12GBP plus 8GBP shipping (about $48 Australian). Nippy Normans is in the UK. They said shipping would be about a week.

See it here Stebel Magnum at Nippy Normans

Legman, it is a straight swap, using the stock relay. I'd post a pic, but I can't remember how. But it fits easily in the same spot. Just point the open end towards the ground to keep dry.

Doesnt help the Aussie, but fyi for the riders stateside. I checked my local autoparts shop and found a Fiamm 139db for $15. Direct fit, completely plug and play. I am no longer ashamed to honk my horn. That is all.

I also got a Fiamm for $9.95 at Harbor Freight, direct replacement although I placed mine to "Blow" out sideways. No probs w/water. 130 db's I think. I got the "low tone". LOUD, definitely louder than my car.
